Yours Truly
by Abby Jimenez
emotional
hopeful
reflective
"It's hard to find out that someone you love is fine with just setting your life on fire and walking away."
Don't get me wrong, I really, really enjoyed this fake relationship contemporary romance. I'm hooked on Abby Jimenez stories. But, as I read this particular story, I kept thinking about how unrealistic Jacob is, or maybe how rare. And that led to me feeling a bit glum.
- He is vulnerable, yet processes his emotions so as to not take out his feelings on those around him.
- He carries tissues in his pocket in case a friend is in need.
- He apologizes without having it dragged from his lips.
- He thinks about consequences and plans ahead in order to alleviate future stress.
- He holds his fair share of the emotional baggage.
The world needs more emotionally competent people like Dr. Jacob Maddox. Heck, I need more.
P.S. Read the Author's Note.
