The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It by Tilar J. Mazzeo
3.0
As the author admits in the prologue, there is very little known about Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Cliquot... As a result, this book focuses way more on the wine of the Champagne than on the incredibly intriguing woman who revolutionized it.
While well written, the book is pretty slow and, frankly, pretty boring. I can't wait for the spicy historical fiction version of this story to come out ☺️
