Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
2.0
This book came highly recommended so I was surprised at how much I hated it. I just thought it was terrible.
I hated everything aside from the last 25-50 pages.
The whole Cassie concept was just creepy and silly.
I agree with the other reviewers who mentioned it being an awkward read...it just never really flowed for me (until the end).
Yea. I'm really not sure what else to say about this. Really bizarre, and definitely not what I expected.
I bought 'Speak' as well, and really intended on reading that first, but a friend said that Wintergirls was a bit better so I gave that a shot...hoping Speak is more enjoyable. (duh. these books aren't supposed to be "enjoyable"...you know what I mean!)
I'm pretty sure my days of giving YA a shot are quickly fading.
