REVIEW - This book deals with a theme that I'm personally going through right now and I want to give kudos to this author for taking what could be a fluffy rom-com and bravely adding in deep and meaningful character development. Both MCs are struggling to keep their head above water without even realizing it and the more time they spend with each other, the more they both heal and find self-worth. I know the whole feminists' "we don't need a man" thing is big right now but there are times where you find beauty in two broken souls healing together in a way they may never have been capable otherwise. Reed's character also hit my heartstrings because I'm struggling with my own brother going through a similar burden. You want to be there for them and to easily solve all their problems but things aren't always so easy. The love shown by the MCs and the willingness to make changes to support each other is just such a joy. I really enjoyed this book between the banter, the emotions, and the fact that it didn't stick to the standard formula of break up and then get back together for an HEA. They loved each other and skipped all that drama facing challenging issues head on because they knew they could do it together.
WOULD I RECOMMEND - 100%. Great book, great characters. This author has become a quick favorite of mine.

Spoiler
A tale of two people meeting at the [seemingly] wrong time. Daisy, having just recently broken off an 8-year-relationship, is trying to rebuild her confidence and purpose. She siezes and opportunity and meets with a company to help her get started only to run into Miles, who she had a brief few cat-and-mouse encounters with only a few weeks before. Miles attempts to build Daisy up but her struggles with her family's notorious reputation running a funeral home have to set to give up her dreams as people tend to shy away from their very name. Miles decides to use his own reputation and schemes to get Daisy to pretend to be his girlfriend and help her reach people she otherwise never would have. Reluctantly agreeing, Daisy and Miles' fake quickly crosses the line to real and they both have to navigate their personal and family struggles. What started as a budding friendship quickly becomes something much more meaningful.REVIEW - This book deals with a theme that I'm personally going through right now and I want to give kudos to this author for taking what could be a fluffy rom-com and bravely adding in deep and meaningful character development.
