The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
by Ann Brashares
literally what is with the age gaps ann brashares. i know they might not seem like a lot, but it's like bridget hasn't even started her junior year in high school (i'm guessing? they wouldn't be just out of freshman year instead right?) and this guy is about to be a sophomore in college. gross. stay away from her.
and it's vague about kostos? i just remember lena saying he's at least eighteen so maybe it is only the two years which is Okay
also when effie says lena is in love with him at the end of the book and lena knows it's true like?? do they mean LOVE love because she and kostos had not had an actual conversation the entire summer skdjfkjs i hope they did not mean that
also omg i hate carmen showing up at the wedding in jeans like i know she feels she needs them but oh my god she just Made That Choice? in the movie (which. are they aged up in the movie because they do not seem like fifteen/sixteen year olds in the movie) it's because her friends make her go to the wedding and i'm like y'all were planning this and you were prepared with dresses?? and you didn't make sure she had one??
also when paul and carmen are dancing and he makes reference to carmen calling his girlfriend skeletor but i thought she just did that in her head? i only remember carmen interacting with her at the party and at the soccer game but i don't think there was an instance of her referring to kelly as skeletor to anybody else either. i reread it in two days so i would think i would have remembered any other interactions or conversations that mention kelly so like. what am i missing there.
