Greenlights

I knew of Matthew McConaughey from rom-com’s but hadn’t really thought of him much beyond The Wedding Planner or How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days until I was given this book from a friend. This is one of the better memoirs I’ve read, where you can see the honesty and openness of what is being shared(even if you don’t necessarily love or agree with it, ie religion/more “macho” ways of parenting) and the tenacity he possesses. While I couldn’t relate to all of it, as he is a white male from Texas, I could relate to the constant need to grow and learn from mistakes, and his takeaways from life experiences were thought provoking.
Moderate: Domestic abuse, Violence
Minor: Drug use, Vomit, Death of parent, Alcohol
