No More Terrible Dates by Kate O'Keeffe

2.0

Darcy has made a pact with her friends to vet her dates since her choices have been pretty bad. This device was used a lot in the first book for some pretty funny scenes, but the author only uses it sparingly here. The real romance is between Darcy and her high school nemesis Alex, now returned as the local barista and photographer. It's a pretty typical enemies to lovers story with a nice setting and characters - until the ending.
Not going to give it away but I hated the ending. It turned an okay book into a depressing mess where I have no regard for either the wimpy heroine or the heavy-handed hero. Just cringy!
