Left me misty-eyed at the end.
But, I had an issue that I had with other such translated works. The writing is off. I can't explain why, but the sentences seem awkward and are unable to "flow" into each other.
Overall, a fantastic read. Don't think too much about it. Don't look up too much about it. Pick this if you love animals/pets and you will have a good time.
