Based on the cover, I thought this was going to be a fun slasher set at summer camp. Instead, the main mystery and scandal involved tax fraud. Not exactly my idea of fun. The strongest parts of the book were the small sections that focused on the found family at summer camp and how for just a moment, such a place makes you feel less alone. The evolution of the main character’s camp friendships were also poignant and I wish the author focused on that more than the mystery.
