The framing of this book is immaculate, with layers of journal entries. The main storyline follows a pastor who is receiving a "confession" from a strange man. It is violent, tense, and dripping with paranoia. There's a lot of layers to this story about colonization and how history is written and hunger and belonging, but it is also just an excellent horror story.
Graphic: Animal death, Gore
Moderate: Violence, Xenophobia, Colonisation
