The Lie by C.L. Taylor

4.0

This is a very well-written suspenseful book. I liked the characters and their interactions. Most of all I enjoyed that it felt real. On the one hand it dealt nicely with the relationship of the four "friends". Furthermore, I believed the reactions of Emma's friends to be quite realistic. No overly dramatic break-ups or abandonment. The characters actually talk to each other and show empathy to resolve the situation and deal with her secrets.
The only thing I have to fault would be that the plot in Nepal is predictable. It doesn't really take away from the suspense of the story as a whole, but I was missing something new to the idea.
