The premise of All Superheroes Need PR hooked me immediately—superheroes needing a PR team to manage their public image before they’re mistaken for villains? Genius. I expected a slow-burn, forbidden workplace romance, but was pleasantly surprised by the fast-paced "instant love" and "fated mates" angle. It dives headfirst into an addictive dynamic that works perfectly for the genre.
Vanessa, the PR firm owner, is a relatable lead, especially with her social anxiety portrayed so thoughtfully. Her inner circle is full of found-family warmth and diversity, including Margerie, a standout trans character who deserves all the love. Any reader critique around her identity should be shut down—she’s strong, loyal, and beautifully written.
Then comes Wyvern/Ronaldo/The Pyro—our possessive, brooding, alien-hero hybrid. He hits every “touch her and die” mark without being overbearing. His struggle with his inner monster and discovery of love with Vanessa adds emotional depth beneath the heat.
Speaking of heat—once the halfway mark hits, the spice soars. The fake-dating trope evolves into a sizzling, knotty (literally, but just once) romance that pulls no punches. If you're unsure about that element, know it's contained and fits the context of the world Stephens builds.
This was my first read from Elizabeth Stephens, and I’m absolutely invested in this unique, steamy universe. Bring on more superheroes, more found family, and more happily ever afters.
