Spoiler free review: Audiobook format. You've Got Mail continues with more political and fantasy sprinkled throughout. The pacing of the book was a little difficult for me so it took longer for me to read than Divine Rivals. Even with the extra pages I read at a much slower pace. The character development felt a little stagnant, their goals and motivations felt not as clear, and maybe that's because I'm not even sure by the end of the book why the eff this was was started and motivations behind the characters. There were considerable plot holes that were a bit difficult to overlook that just had me squinting my eyes in confusion and scratching my head....anyways. I like when there is political intrigue written in stories and honestly I don't think you can have a book about war without politics playing a role. Where I think it lost me was that it felt underdeveloped and confusing. I still adore Iris and Roman. We got more of Attie and I love her. I still enjoyed and liked the book. 3.75 starts overall. 5 stars still for the amazing narrators.

Now for the spoiler riddled review. I really did love Attie and her new beau Tobias and his roadster (or whatever it's called). I in fact loved them so much I think they deserved a bigger role and more character development. I also really liked the budding relationship between Forest and Prindle. What a lovely surprise to see them end up an item. I was definitely all for Findle and Tattie. Listen...IDK I can't come up with better shipping names. Love Rebecca Ross ability to build a relationship between two people and her characters. This is why I will still give the book 3.75 stars.
Where it lost a star: I really hoped more more depth to Dacre and Enva. Was Dacre's motivation really just power and control? It felt like the story wanted to be more heartbreak between Dacre and Enva and to me it fell short never really developed. It felt cookie cutter villain and hero. I wanted a more complex relationship. Also, are you really telling me there's a god death sword, Dacre was asleep, and Enva waited for Iris to kill him? A young....journalist? What? Also, if she had so many powers but she just sat in Oath playing her instrument that she allegedly couldn't really play as well but she still recruited a bunch of soldiers? If the doors to the underworld weren't lock before...why did she stay in Oath? She really didn't think about using the underworld for that long? How did Roman's dad get involved with Dacre to begin with? The rebel group also seemed to sorta come out of nowhere with no clear leaders or development just suddenly it felt like they had a Mockingjay call and started graffitiing kill the gods...also...they just forgot they also wanted to destroy Enva at the end? What happened to Roman's estate? Are they living there or somewhere lese? I have so many questions...
