Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

5.0

Anna Dressed in Blood was an amazing story. It captivated me from the very first page. I love the whole "boy meets girl, girl kills people" concept. It's cute in a bloody imminent death kind of way.

Anna is like fear, sadness, and everything bad (the opposite of sugar, spice and everything nice) encompassed into a person. But she's a different person, aside from the whole "she's dead" thing.
You think that, since the story begins setting her up as the bad girl, you'd dislike her, but through out the entire book, I couldn't wait to get to see Anna. The way she acts is written spectacularly, especially the death scenes. I hate it when someone dies and the author gives a half-assed description. I love love love how Kendare Blake actually went into the gory details.

My heart actually aches for Cas and Anna'a relationship. Reading Girl of Nightmares just made crack in places again and again. Blake does (again) a spectacular job of explaining the detail of the torture Anna has to endure in Hell, and how anxious and desperate Cas is to save her.

This is a really good series and I hope Blake rethinks ending it at 2 books!!! (More please!!!)
