Her Every Move by Kelly Irvin

4.0

Her Every Move starts with a bang... literally... and doesn't stop until the very end. In this new romantic suspense from Kelly Irvin, we meet Jackie Santoro as she is attending an event she had planned for the library where she works as a librarian and event coordinator. When a bomb goes off during the event, Detective Avery Wick suspects that Jackie herself may be the culprit. With the threat of more violence to come, she has to prove her innocence. What follows is an action packed story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats... with some great romance thrown in too, of course.

When I say this one started off with a bang, I really mean it. It was one of those moments that caught me as a reader off guard just as much as it caught the characters too. That unpredictability carried on throughout the story. What seemed like a quiet moment would suddenly change. It kept me guessing what might happen next and when. There was a lot of suspicion thrown in many directions, and just when you thought you had it figured out, something else would happen to clear your suspect. It truly kept me guessing all the way up to the big reveal... and a rather surprising one I must say.

I must admit that I didn't care for Avery's character at first... and honestly, even in the end he still wasn't my favorite romance novel hero... but he did come to grow on me anyway. I do almost wish I had a little more time to get to know him, but I enjoyed the romance nonetheless. I did find that it took more of a backseat in this story than some others in the genre, with the suspense really taking center stage.

I've yet to read a book by Kelly Irvin that I haven't enjoyed, and this was no exception. Fans of Christian romantic suspense are certainly going to want to check it out.
