Bad Alpha by Kathryn Moon
5.0

“For a brief moment, my own luck struck me, hard and quick. I was not a woman who deserved these men. I was not an alpha who ought to have a claim on an omega. I was not a good person. But I had chosen this pack, not quite for myself, and they were proud to be mine. I was proud to be theirs too.“

What an amazing journey Kathryn Moon gifted us with in this story. I already knew she was an excellent writer but she surpassed herself with Bad Alpha. The way she evolved the plot, relationships and characters felt impecable. I’m in total awe of her talent.

Eve had fascinated me from the moment she showed up in Lola’s books, I was anticipating her story very much, and thus I was worried I might be disappointed. But Bad Alpha actually surpassed my expectations.

I loved Eve’s character development the most in the story. The little glints at her past and backstory broke my heart and helped to understand Eve so much. And the fact that she was The Alpha for real in all situations, god that was hot.

The idea that female Alphas have a “lock” fascinated me. And mixing the lock with male alphas’ knots was out of this world explosively hot.

I loved how Eve ended up bonded to all the alphas plus Adam, and Adam only bonded one of them plus Eve. It was nice to get the focus on her and for once it felt very genuine and organic, not forced or awkward at all. And I loved that.

Adam was one of the best male omegas I’ve ever read. I loved the fact that he was a con artist, how he used all his resources to trick people. How he was willing to go as far as necessary to find his sister, but before that, to save all those omegas. I just loved his relationship with Eve, the way their intimacy increased and their bond grew stronger over time, I just loved to read how not-sweet together they were but how they still managed to be endearing in their own way.

I’m positively obsessed with Rory. He’s one of the best and most complex alphas I’ve ever read. His tug of war with Eve was the hottest shit I’ve ever read. And the fact that he turned into a cuddle bear after bonded just killed me.

Jamie was also an incredible character. I loved how he was Eve’s rock in a way none of the others could be. And I absolutely loved the fact that he’s the only one of the four who bit Eve. I felt like her relationship with Jamie was more equal than with the others, and that made me like them a little bit more than the others.

Garrett and his love for pegging was excellent. I wasn’t that much into him as the others, but he was much better than I thought after reading some reviews. I could see how he worked with Adam and Eve and how he brought something they both needed into the metaphorical table.

Overall, I loved Bad Alpha and even though it’s a long book, I was left wanting more, which is always a sign that a book is excellent. I’m looking forward to the next installment in Moon’s sweetverse. She has become an author I’ll read everything from ❤️
