I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is for tweens. I'm very fond of the characters in this book. Miss Bella feels like the main charcter, she's a runty dog and it's great that the book gives her perspective on the world along with her human counterparts. Piper is a great feisty 6 year old girl who shows immense bravery and James is a young disabled teen who shows incredible resourcefulness.

As a fan of the game Fallout 4, this book felt like a middle-grade version of the game, lovely characters, loyal pets, and a mutated world. I'm excited for the series to continue as mysterious events occurred that need answers.

All in all definitely worth reading.
