It’s by sheer chance I picked this book up on audible - I just wanted something different because I was in a YA slump. I’ve already listened to this twice, and the second book twice! I’m a simple man and I sure do love a period piece about queer British men. It’s deceivingly simple - I just expected lots of smut with a loose plot, but I actually got interested in this undercover gang, whatever the hell this ‘Information’ everyone demanded was, and of course what this sneaky, mysterious Kim was really up to.

I adored Will as a main character too! I usually get frustrated with stubborn, hot-headed characters (especially when they’re men) but somehow I found myself agreeing with all his decisions. But if I’m honest, my favourite character is miss Phoebe, the extroverted and friendly upperclass lady who’s so ‘terribly modern’. I love how all the characters interact and become entwined in each others lives as the plot and books progress.

I will admit it’s definitely Cornel Collin’s narration that tops it all off for me. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to read the series on my own, and if I ever do I’ll be hearing his accents and cadence in my head. It really brings it all to life!

One of my favourite series!
