The Mercy of Gods by James S. A. Corey
1.0
An absolute zero. I knew this was going to be a hate read ten minutes into the cringey "research atmosphere" and the "scientific intrigue". It didn't get better. The standard Messiah of the people, young, male, and smart, but not too smart (not too much education either, can't have that gumming up the place). Gary sue levels of charm, bringing together sycophancy with enough young male energy (ala James Bond) to get an elderly researcher (F), a swarm of bots (?) and a dead young girl (F) to be madly in love with him....
I could go on but it's too annoying to even satirically remember. An author for the blacklist for sure.
--- I always forget how bad most sci-fi is. It's a genre almost always only OK in my recollection..
