The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson

5.0

Honestly, there is nothing more I can add to the conversation around this book. All the praise and accolades are justified, and then some. It was an honor for me to take this journey with these stories, and really learn this history. As a product of this Migration - my mother and her family migrated in the 60s, (on the tail end) - my grandmother subsequently moved back in the 80s, and though I was born in the North, I was sent to live with my grandmother in the South as a baby, only to make the journey back North at 7. (I too know a little something about the experience of coming North LOL!) - this is my story, my family's story and such an integral part of not only my personal history, but the history of this country.
