A Separate Peace by John Knowles
3.5
A beautiful story that captures everything I love about war literature based off the frontline, and carries the academic setting I so enjoy! I wish more had been done with elements of the plot however the quiet mystery of it all is somehow beautiful and peaceful in itself. It also gains an extra half star for the beautiful afterword by David Levithan which presents what I often feel about war narratives and their inevitable queer readings :))
