Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard
3.0
I received a copy of Blade Breaker from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
I was really looking forward to reading Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard. I remember loving Realm Breaker and thought the sequel had to be just as good. But I was a bit disappointed in this one.
It took me an extraordinary amount of time to finish reading in part because I didn't feel as invested as I did with Realm Breaker.. I couldn't escape the feeling that Aveyard was building up to something monumental but that build up didn't come to fruition for me. The crescendo didn't ring for me.
I did enjoy the development of some of the characters, Sarasa Sarn and Andry Trelland, for example, and the appearance of the dragon was exciting. But ultimately I'm left wondering if I want to pursue reading the third book in the series when it's available.
