This book definitely moves at a slower pace, but I still feel the story is essential to the overall Throne of Glass series. That said, SJM probably could have cut at least a hundred pages. On the bright side, I absolutely love Yrene and I’m so excited to see what’s next for her. Honestly, I don’t think I would’ve made it through without doing the tandem read.

also, i really hate the way the book ends, as i feel as i feel like

chaol and yrenes life forces being connected is 1) a cop out to chaol dying, and 2) is going to cause problems in the future as yrene is infinitely more important than chaol.
