Did not finish book. Stopped at 54%.
the blurb made this sound more exciting than it was (obsession! delusion!) but it was a slog to get even halfway through. judging by the reviews it doesn’t get much better in the second half.
i understand why the writing is the way that it is — the protagonist takes her obsession (and herself) very seriously — but it became too pretentious and heady for me to enjoy. i’m sure some people will love this, but i’m not one of them.
