A dark, intricately planned, whirlwind of emotions. I loved this book so much and couldn't stop reading! The two main characters are absolutely brilliant and it feels likes you are with them as they progress with uncovering the crime. Lisbeth is an iconic and fierce female character who made me laugh on many occasions as well as become super frustrated by her behaviour at times. Mikael's character was very likeable and I really wanted them to get on! I enjoyed how their stories were told separately at first to build context and then they were brought together later on so by this point you are deeply invested in the characters.

I had always heard the Millennium book series was seriously good so I wanted to give it a try and it really did live up to those expectations. Larsson provides the reader with so much detail and a double plot twist which was very thrilling to read. Just as I felt like the book was finishing, I was then reminded that there was even more mystery and crime to uncover! So impressed with this and am definitely heading straight to the next book in the series.
