This prequel was just not good. I feel like rather than enriching the world of the narrative, it made it seem so much less likely. Should have been classified not as Silo #2, but as 0.5 or 1.5. Then I wouldn’t have read it and I’d be happier. 
1.5 stars, just for Solo’s origin story, still not good, but at least somewhat interesting.
