Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
5.0
I’ve just finished Sky In The Deep and I’m in love!!
This was one of the books I was most looking forward to reading this year. I mean...who doesn’t love Vikings?!
This book completely captivated me from the first page until the last sentence.
The characters are so strong and loveable. Eelyn is so fierce, Fiske is perfect and he’s definitely book boyfriend material..., Halvard is one of the best fictional kids I’ve ever read about. I can go on and on about the characters but they are all amazing. The way they are described is perfect and I love the interactions between them all. I felt every single emotion with Eelyn.
The world building is incredibly done! I felt like I was there in the book. I felt like I was part of every battle scene. I felt like I was there on the snow covered mountain.
The romance was very nicely done, it wasn’t too strong that it was the main focal point in the story, but it was enough to be felt. I really rooted for them from the moment they first interacted.
The writing was so beautiful and flowed so well, I’m completely in love with Adrienne’s writing. And those battle scenes!! They were beautifully written, intense, amazing and just perfect.
Overall I loved this book so much, I give it 5⭐️. If I could give it more I would, I couldn’t put it down and everytime I had to all I could think about was Eelyn, Fiske & Halvard.
This is a brilliant debut novel by a fantastic writer. Please go out and pick it up, you won’t be disappointed.
