The Turn of the Key
by Ruth Ware
This was very good.
This is a thriller where a live in nanny is writing a series of letters to a lawyer to try and explain her innocence in the death of a child in her care.
The mystery of who died and how keep you guessing for the length of the book.
There's also a very strong supernatural element. There are times where this is very similar to The Turn Of The Screw, with the nanny and children and ghosts.
The mix of supernatural and high-tech elements in the book make an odd mix at times and it does take until the end to really understand what's been going on.
The first twist was very good, but the last twist will be something I'll be thinking about for a while. It's a great ending, and makes things finally click.
I think this was saved by the ending. About half way through I was ready to skip the end and just stop listening. I'm glad I listened all the way through, it's a very good ending.
