Wow. The Chain's being split into two parts is really telling. The first was dark, tense, and gripping; the second was simply bad. The premise introduces themes of family ties and perseverance in a way that's delightfully bleak and desperate, but all of it goes to waste as the story devolves into an unimaginative action flick. McKinty took a single strong idea and stretched it beyond recognition. Imagine Black Mirror's Shut Up and Dance if it were adapted into a 2 hour long Hollywood movie.
