Everybody in this book is vile. You will feel disgusted throughout, both physically and morally.
Fascinating concept, disappointing execution. There is no nuance explored here, everyone is just awful. The cannibalism industry is transparently an allegory for the meat industry and after the first few chapters I was frustrated that exploration of the ethics wasn't actually taken any further when there was so much opportunity. For instance, the idea of "free range" versus factory farming could have been explored.
I'm honestly just relieved it's over. Be pre-warned that the disgust engendered by the graphic description may sway you towards veganism if you are not already - no doubt the author's intent.
