Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens
by Shankari Chandran
Wow! It took me a while to rely get into this book. The story is set in Sydney and Sri Lanka. The story revolves round people devastated by war in their home country and their amazing home in Australia.
The author has built a nursing home that I would be almost happy to live in. There is so much kindness in this story from people who should be filled with hate and resentment.
I loved the pace and complexity, the sadness and joy, the stories and their sometimes awful endings, but overall a sense of hope and love.
Highly recommended
