Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
3.0
The reason I gave it three stars was because I felt disappointed reading this book. The first book was very fast-paced and I was able to finish it within 24 hours, then this book felt very slow to me. Now I get that this book was essential for some character development and to introduce some new characters to the story too. The whole on and off thing Mal and Alina had going on was the only form of tension this book had to me, I missed the Darkling in this story. Even though the Darkling IS mentioned a lot he doesn't actively play a role in siege and storm which I found a bit of a bummer. I also felt Sturmhond/ Nikolai slowing down the pace of the book for me, he was childish, reckless, irresponsible and a ton of other things, mostly in the first half. Nikolai became more enjoyable later on in the story. It took me a whole week to finish siege and storm and that also cost some points. Overall was I pretty satisfied with the ending and how the Darkling made an appearance.
