In The Tall Trees by Angel Van Atta
5.0

Oh my what a compelling, horrifying and heartbreaking story this is. In the tall trees is a true life style horror novel that is gripping, stressful and incredibly emotional.

We follow this story through the eyes of Mella, a four year old girl who lives in a home with her pregnant mother, and her brother. She sees her father on occasion, as he doesn’t live with her full time. The joy in this child’s heart for her dad is so innocent and genuine, for she doesn’t know the truth of who he is.

I really felt my heart pull for Mella, I sympathized with her and on more than one occasion this read brought me to tears. To read the author excerpt on the end was an added eye-opener to the reality of what some children go through on the daily, and I thank Angel for sharing their story with us. I highly recommend this book, be prepped to start it and not stop until you’re done.

Thank you Angel Van Atta for the gifted ARC of this read, an easy five starts from me!
