The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter
5.0
A prison riot leads to the death of an inmate and brings in the Georgia Bureau of Investigations to examine the scene. While the team is at the prison they get word that one of the inmates wants to exchange information. The inmate will give specifics about the murder and a phone smuggling ring, if the GBI investigates a murder that he was blamed for. Things get intense when investigators hear that the inmate is accusing a beloved former police chief of setting him up.
Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors, and she doesn’t disappoint with this book being a page turning thrilling ride. I love the characters, the love stories, the gritty dark details, and the beginning, the middle, and the end.
Content Warning: Graphic details about rape and murder
