adventurous challenging medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

the interludes are genuinely compelling at times, and it is purely on the strength of the interludes that I have not given this book a lower rating

but then... there's the rest of the book. it never quite manages to actually make me care about the plot. painfully obvious prose at times, as if John Peel doesn't trust the readers to figure anything out, which gets grating

could have been a decent book if it wasn't for the Doctor Who parts. it's just a shame about all the sexism and character assassinations
