The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
3.0
I liked it, its a nice book, in the end its a love story. It's a nice love story, but I don't particularly feel strongly about the relationship.
I liked it as a look into history, details I had never known, that was very interesting to read. It's great to see the different roles inside of the camps and I found that the relationships between Lale and the different guards ended up being my favourite to read about. As a story it was okay, Lale is an interesting main character but there's something that never fully clicks for me.
Its a good book, not long and it reads really smoothly.
The relationship, which should be what keeps Lale going, is the problem for me, as I was never given a solid reason for them to fall in love with each other. But I somehow found that I didn't really mind this in the end, the rest of the story makes up for it.
