To summarise my thoughts on Tom Jones as a whole is a remarkably difficult task, as it took me so long to venture through, and likewise, would take me far too long to comment on thoroughly. This novel felt like the longest journey I have ever taken, and I am grateful for it. It's incredible to read such a foundational text for the genre of the novel, and surprisingly, all of its humour holds up in the modern day. It genuinely does remain shocking and dramatic, and I truly enjoyed it. A lot of its middle section is difficult to get through and highly meandering, but the payoff is beyond worth it.
