Now this one is a little bit different, in the sense that it originated as a Reddit post, and eventually was finished and published as a full length novel.

This feels very similar to ‘Stolen Tongues’ for me. I have no clue why, the writing just feels so similar. And I mean that as a sincere compliment, because I actually grew to love the bromance between Josh and our unnamed narrator.

I always enjoy a creepy atmosphere, and I can say that this delivered that for the most part. If I had to choose a strongest part, it’d be ‘Screens’. As I really felt like screens breathed some much needed love and life into our narrators life, the scene where he finds Veronica at the car surprised me in the worst/best way possible.

My complaints are mostly how the story is set in a slightly confusing and non-chronological order. Though I do understand that this originally being a one-shot Reddit post would affect the delivery of the rest of the story. Anyway, that’s my biggest gripe, I also felt that some of the chapters were slow and clunky but that can be forgiven because the end was definitely worth the read.

Going on one big book haul and then I’m going on a book buying BAN. Which means until summers over I won’t be buying anymore books. (Hopefully)
