Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster, Fiction, Action & Adventure
by Jean Webster
For a book written in 1911, it still holds up today. My first exposure to the story was musical. The musical was really well done but after I finished I was looking up where this story came from and discovered the book.
The book is a series of letters. It feels like an Anne of Green Gables. It centers around an energetic young woman going to college. It is warm, it's short, and is a delightful read. It does show its age in places but it holds up. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to someone who likes Anne of Green Gables and is looking for more.
Spoilers
I am not totally sure the romance holds up 100% because the benefactor is older though this book was written in like the 10's so I can forgive it that. The rest was sweet and I haven't read much else like it.
