Alex Woods has had a very strange childhood, having been hit by a meteor and developing epilepsy, and growing up in his mums hippy dippy shop full of tarot and crystals.
Alex gets bullied at school and then meets a local gent called Mr Petersen. He ends up building a relationship with Mr Petersen. The book tracks this relationship and how Alex supports Mr Petersen to maintain his dignity in difficult circumstances.
It was funny, sweet and a very interesting topic. It felt a little long and Alex's descriptions could be a little monotonous - although I think that was the point as you really got the sense of his 'voice'!
