The Nanny Returns by Emma McLaughlin, Nicola Kraus

3.0

Nanny Returns is the sequel to The Nanny Diaries, which I loved. This second book is ok. You would think after 10 years, traveling the world, and getting a masters, the girl would finally grow a backbone. But, she didn't. Nanny gets sucked back into the world of the uber rich of NYC. She feels like she needs to save/fix/make up for leaving Grayer X when he was a boy. Uh, she got fired by the parents, she didn't willingly leave. The kid was 3 or 4. And, did I mention it was 10 years ago?? The kid does show up on her doorstep, but any normal person would have walked away from that insanity. The book moves at the same frantic pace as the first, which I kind of like. Although it often seems unrealistic that so many disasters can happen so quickly to one person, it is entertaining. There were also so many plot lines that weren't really tied up, so I would expect another in the series.
