This Will Be Fun by E.B. Asher

0.5

If endings matter to you this book is terrible. Otherwise your enjoyment of this book will depend greatly on your fondness for romance book genre trappings, repeated references to unspoken history, and tongue-in-cherk parallels to modern contrivances ("spell service" instead of cell service, soap operas and fan boards, Starbucks but not Starbucks, etc.)

For me this was a pretty big slog that spoiled a good premise for clumsy attempts at dragging out romances that already overtook about 90% of any given chapter. But that's only about 1.5 score. It lost all but half by having a ruinously awful ending.
