- I love a good Mulan retelling!
- I love Ying. Her desire to join the Engineers’ Guild is so understandable, and she takes each challenge so well
- I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Ying and Ye-Yang
- I feel like it was too easy for her to keep her identity hidden. Only showering was addressed, but what about changing clothes? Using the bathroom? Her period?
- This felt a lot more about her time in the Engineers’ Guild with random reminders about her father, even though it was initially set up to focus on her father
- While you can definitely see that there will be a second book, it didn’t end on a huge cliffhanger
