An enjoyable sports romance with appealing characters. Mia and Cal are both hockey players. He is a pro on the same team as her half-brother, For REASONS (no spoliers!) Mia is not playing professionally, but vying to get onto the Olympic team and to a professional gig thereafter. He helps her train, they become friends, and then more. There is a little too much failure to communicate for me. That is problematic and inconsistent with the story because they have a trusting friend relationship already and that trust is so strong they tell each other things they tell no one else - why would that end with discussion of liking or loving one another? Still, it was fun and I do like a good friends-to-lovers story.
