The Austen Playbook by Lucy Parker

4.0

Freddy Carlton, darling of the West End, is burnt out. She's been acting professionally since she was a child, and after a string of mediocre performances, some less-than-stellar reviews, and years of her increasingly overbearing manager/father, Freddy is ready to make her own path. So she accepts a role in The Austen Playbook, a live choose-your-own-adventure television event on a rambling country estate where the audience votes on the outcome of the story. It's a dream project, but what Freddy doesn't realize is that the charming country manor is owned by James Ford-Griffin - the sarcastic, sharp-tongued, and VERY ATTRACTIVE theatre critic who lambasted her last performance. As rehearsals begin, Freddy and Griff grow closer and closer, but will their relationship be able to withstand backstage drama, long-buried family secrets, and a live television audience? READ THIS ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL BOOK TO FIND OUT.
