This book delivered what it promised- a spicy, sexy Sapphic love story. I loved both of the main characters, I could picture them so perfectly in my head and exactly how cute they would be in real life. I also love the idea of a majority Black/Brown queer town in the South. It gives me hope.
There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the book about switching tenses and modern language/slang, so if that's a turn off the author is upfront and just says this book is not for you. But I didn't notice the past/present tense switches (it's how I write and think, so it felt very familiar to me) and none of the modern language was cringey or felt out of place. All in all it was a cute relaxing romance without the miscommunication trope I'm so tired of (yay!) and plenty of well written spicy scenes.
