The Secret Explorers and the Comet Collision
by SJ King
This ticks the main boxes for my seven-year-old: science and adventure. It's on the high end of the quality scale for books at this level. It's diverse and educational, and fun and exciting enough to keep my son's attention. My favorite part: no gross jokes or body humor.
Is it perfect? No. The diversity feels contrived, and science is stretched a bit to make the adventure happen (Saturn to Jupiter in ten minutes!), but adventure-wise, it's perfect for my son's crowd. I'll definitely be grabbing more of these for him to read.
