I don't know if I quite have the words for this book. It's absolutely chilling and feels like it'd make for an INSANE movie adaptation.
All the characters come to life in such a true, distinct, individual and realistic way. This both feels like fantasy but also feels like something that could scarily happen in real life.
The only thing I really have issue with is the repeated mention of one child in a sexual manner and while I know it's meant to be gross and uncomfortable, having me, the reader, visualize the child in that way is a step too far. Simply mentioning it and leaving the details up to our imagination would have been fine because of course kids get up to things, but talking about the experience in detail feels excessive for a kid.
