The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner

Did not finish book.
The third person narrative stripped the story of what made it unique: Eugenides' personality.

The violence was also very over the top. Not that
having people's hands cut off</spoilers> isn't something I regularly see in fiction I read, it's that it's just shown in a... weird way. I don't know how to put it. It probably has something to do with
the begging
and the fact that
Eugenides marries this queen at the end apparantly?
. Yeah, weird.
