The Handler
by August Jones
This book started out soooo well! You could tell Gideon and Jax were made for each other. They were instinctually drawn together, recognizing yin and Yang. Not only was it Jax’s job to care for Gideon, but it was almost animalistic in how they were drawn together. The overtly sexual environment that Gideon created in his own persona and entourage allowed Jax to drop any hangups about sexuality, and view the burgeoning sexual attraction as caretaking. I mean yes, Gideon was a flirty instigator and a brat, but Jax just could not resist.
However, the last half of the book while they were in Europe was tough for me. It started to drag. And even though there was miscommunication and a “break up” it was so in character for both that it didn’t annoy me like miscommunication usually does. It was organic.
And their reunion had me so so happy for them.
